The Yulong River is a tributary of the Li River, Which is part of the main focus of cultural relics and pastoral landscapes location in Yangshuo County. It drains the Yangshuo County area and it comes in from the northwest of Yangshuo. This is an area of extensive farmalnds and beautiful peaks; the Yulong River has a different appeal than the Li River. There are some people say “Yangshuo is the best in Guilin; Yunlong River is the best in Yangshuo.”

No.3: Longji Rice Terraces and Minority Villages

Location: Longsheng County

The scenery here is absolutely gorgeous around the world. Known to the world as an essential part of Guilin highlight, Longji Rice Terraces in Chinese is also called Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces or Long sheng Rice Terraces because of its location in Long Sheng County of Guilin. The Terraces were completed at the beginning of Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and scatter at an altitude between 300 and 1100 meters at a maximum gradient of 50 degrees, creating a tremendous scenic area of some 66 square kilometers.

In the area, there are several ancient minority villages for Yao, Zhuang and Dong people. Especially, the Yao group that living here are all the red Yao ethnic people. A custom of red Yao ethnic is that all females should keep a long hair; the longest hair can reach to 1.9 meters.

No.4: Elephant Trunk Hill (Xiangbishan)

The hill is shaped very much like a giant elephant standing by the Li River-side, gulping the water from the river with its long trunk. And there is about 150 square meters of round hole between its trunk and legs, piercing over the river, like the moon floats on water, constituting "Elephant Moon Water" spectacle. The Elephant Trunk Hill is a symbol of the city of Guilin.

No.5: Reed Flute Cave (Ludi Yan)

The Reed Flute Cave is one of the spectacular and picturesque caves in the area of Guilin and a ‘must-see’ scenic attraction for domestic and foreign visitors. The cave is formed through a joint action of dissolution by rainwater and underground water during the long past. The cave has already a history of about one million years ever since it came into being. With a depth of 250 meters and a course of 0.5 kilometer for visitors to enjoy, it takes around an hour to finish the tour in the cave.

The “Scenic Area of Two Rivers and Fours Lakes” in Guilin refers to the section of Li River in the city, Peach Blossom River, Wooden Dragon Lake, Osmanthus Lake, Banyan Lake and China Fir Lake, which form a scenic belt in the city.

The first way to see the scenic area is taking 1.5-hour cruise which offers a chance to view Guilin’s tranquil mountain and water scenery, along with traditional Chinese architecture, ancient inscriptions on the bridge arches and well-maintained park-style lake frontage. Fubo Hill is also called Taming Wave Hill, one of the Charming Scenic Spots in Guilin, located in the northeast of the city of the Guilin. Fubo Hill is a peak standing prettily and solitarily by the riverside with half of it jutting into the river and the rest half on the land. What we mean taming the wave is simply to denote that the water is obstructed by the hill when it reaches here.

Here, standing in the center of the scenic area is a giant banyan tree with branches and leaves looking very much like a huge canopy and it is at least 1400 years old now.

Besides, the Moon Hill which is about one kilometer away from the giant banyan tree. The hilltop features a running-through cave that measures more than 30 meters in width and height and takes a shape of a full moon. If you viewing from a moving vehicle, as your position changes you will see the dramatic lunar cycle from a thin crescent to a bright white ball.

No.9: Yao Mountain (Yaoshan)

Yao Mountain (yáo shān 尧山), or called Mount Yao, is the largest and highest mountain in Guilin city area, about 10km (6 miles) from Guilin downtown. Once up to the top of the mountain, you can have a panorama view of the whole Guilin City, which is totally embraced by multiple spectacular karst peaks and winding rivers. At the foot of the Yao mountain, there is a huge and imperial cemetery group burying eleven princes of Jingjiang Family during Ming Dynasty, which has a long history of more than 2,200 years.

No.10: Wind and Rain Bridge in Chengyang

Location: Chengyang, Sanjiang County, Liuzhou City

Built in 1916, the bridge is 64.4 meters long, 3.4 meters wide and 10.6 meters high, with a reputation as the largest wind and rain bridge. As one of the most magnificent wooden architectural structures and a symbol of the Dong ethnic architecture, Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge still keeps a complete appearance for people to study the Dong minority culture for about 100 years’ history.

It also can be called Yongji Bridge or Panlong Bridge and takes a very important position in the Chinese architectural culture. Main materials used to build it are wood and stone. The most amazing thing in the construction of this bridge is that no single nail was used in the building of the whole bridge. Fir and wood board cover the surface of the bridge. The bridge is a perfect combination of painting, bridge, corridor, veranda and Chinese pavilion.
