Due to their convenient transportation facilities and numerous attractions, they have become as vital tourist places as Shanghai and Beijing over these years.
Among the 7 trains transfer from Chengdu and Kunming, only 2 of them are High Speed Trains. The two trains depart from Chengdu East Railway Station in the afternoon (15:06/16:10) and arrive at Kunming South Railway Station in the evening (21:44/22:52). Chengdu Kunming High Speed Rail Map
Old Chengdu Kunming High Speed Train Route (Chengdu - Guiyang - Kunming)
Chengdu Kunming High Speed Rail is built over mountain areas. The whole route is 1112 kilometers (691 miles) in length and begins from Chengdu East Railway Station and arrives at Kunming South Railway Station via Chongqing City and Guiyang Province. Along the route, High Speed Trains may take brief stop at Neijiang North (内江北), Chongqing West (重庆西), Jijiang (綦江东), Zunyi(遵义), Xifeng (息烽), Guiyang North (贵阳北), etc. Currently, the whole High Speed Train journey takes about 5.5~7 hours.
Chengdu East Railway Station
Location: No.4, Qingyijiang Road, Chenghua District, Chengdu, Sichuan (四川省成都市成华区青衣江路4号-成都东站)
Chengdu East Railway Station is the main High Speed Railway Station connecting with the nearby attractions like Leshan and Emeishan. Convenient Metro Lines, airport shuttle bus, taxi, public bus and long-distance coach service to the downtown area are offered there. By taking metro lines, you can get to the People’s Park within 27 minutes and to the Jinli Old Street within 54 minutes. It is the only departure station for High Speed Trains travel to Kunming. Kunming South Railway Station
Location: Xiangyuan Road, Chenggong District, Kunming, Yunnan (云南省昆明市呈贡区祥园街-昆明南站)
Kunming South Railway Station is an ultra-large integrated transportation hub integrating MRT (high speed railway, express railway and intercity railway), subway, bus, taxi and other transportation means. It is located about 30 min’s driving to the Dian Lake, 1 hour’s driving to the Green Lake and 1 hour & 17 mins’ driving to the Stone Forest. Currently it runs trains to Beijing, Shanghai, Guilin, Guiyang, Changsha, Xiamen, Chongqing, Nanning, etc. For High Speed Trains travel from Chengdu to Kunming, Kunming South Railway Station is the only available terminus.
New Chengdu Kunming High Speed Train Route (Chengdu - Xichang - Kunming)
On December 26, 2022, with the completion of the Emei to Mianning section of the new Chengdu-Kunming railway, the entire 915-kilometer railway became fully operational. Travel time from Chengdu to Xichang, Panzhihua, and Kunming will be greatly reduced to as fast as 3 hours, 5 hours, and 7.5 hours respectively. The new Chengdu-Kunming railway starts from Chengdu South Station, passing through Chengdu City, Meishan City, Leshan City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Panzhihua City in Sichuan Province, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, and Kunming City in Yunnan Province, and ends at Kunming Station.
The high speed trains on the new Chengdu Kunming High Speed Railway depart from Chengdu South Railway Station, and make the final stop also at Kunming South Railway Station.
Chengdu South Railway Station
Location: Tianrenbeier Street, Wuhou District, Chengdu, Sichuan (成都市武侯区天仁北二街)
Chengdu South Railway Station is a major transportation hub in Chengdu. It is located in the city's Wuhou District, about 11 kilometers south of the city center. Transportation to and from the station is convenient, with multiple transportation options available. The station is connected to the city's metro system, with Line 1 and Line 7 serving the station. There are also many bus routes that stop at the station, making it easily accessible from different parts of the city. Taxis and ride-hailing services are also readily available at the station.

Class of Ticket
