There are approximately 6 weekly flights provided by Sichuan Airlines, connecting Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport. Flights are available every day except for Mondays, typically departing around 09:05 and arriving at 10:35, with a total travel time of 1.5 hours.

Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport totally operates about 20 daily direct flights to Changsha Huanghua International Airport from early morning till late night, and usually need no more than 2 hours. If you plan no intermediate stay in Changsha City, you can choose the earliest flight at around 07:10 from Chengdu and arrive in Changsha at around 09:00 in the morning.

Changsha Airport to Train Station:

Upon your arrival, you have several transportation options. You can take a maglev train or airport shuttle bus to Changsha South Railway Station, or opt for a shuttle bus or metro lines to Changsha Railway Station. Both stations offer high-speed trains to Zhangjiajie.

Changsha to Zhangjiajie Trains:

Typically, there are over 30 pairs of high-speed trains running daily between Changsha Railway Station (or Changsha South Railway Station) and Zhangjiajie West Railway Station from morning until night. The journey takes only about 2-3.5 hours. Additionally, the commute from Changsha South Station to Changsha Railway Station usually takes around 30 minutes by local metro Line 2 or taxi.

Option 2: Chengdu Changsha Train & Changsha Zhangjiajie Train

Chengdu to Changsha Trains:

While there are approximately 10 high-speed G trains operating from Chengdu East Railway Station to Changsha South Railway Station, completing the entire journey in about 6.5-7.5 hours, we highly recommend opting for a morning departure from Chengdu. This ensures ample time to catch the 2.5-3.5 hours' bullet train from Changsha to Zhangjiajie in the afternoon.

It is also available to travel from Chengdu to Zhangjiajie with a transfer at Huaihua, which well connected with both Chengdu and Zhangjiajie by high speed trains.

Chengdu to Huaihua Bullet Trains & Overnight Trains:

There are 10 daily high speed G trains and 3 normal trains from Chengdu to Huaihua. The G trains depart in the early morning and afternoon from Chengdu East Railway Station to Huaihua South Railway Station with a total riding of about 5-6 hours. One ne normal train departs from Chengdu West Railway Station in the afternoon, arriving at Huaihua South Railway Station the following early morning. Additionally, two other normal trains depart from Chengdu East Railway Station in the afternoon, reaching Huaihua Railway Station in the early morning. These longer journeys typically take between about 11-14 hours.

Huaihua to Zhangjiajie Trains:

There are more than 15 high-speed trains daily operating from Huaihua South Railway Station to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, with a travel time of just 1.5-2 hours.

Tongren may be less famous for you, but you must know the Fanjing Mountain that is widely concerned by global media for its fantastic scenery.
