China Visa Policy for Brunei Passport
According to related laws and regulations, Brunei, Singaporean and Japanese (officially called Negara Brunei Darussalam) ordinary passport holders may enjoy visa-free entry to mainland China for no longer than 15 days if travel for tour, business, visiting family or friends or transit. You need to apply for a China Visa if want to overstay after entry or visit for purposes like study, employment, residence, official activities or journalism. Similarly, Brunei citizens are eligible for certain period visa-free trip to Hong Kong and Macau.

Travel to Mainland China Without Visa - 15 Day China Visa Free
Brunei citizens can get China Visa Exemption as long as you meet all the below requirements:
● Hold ordinary passport of Brunei;
● Travel to mainland China for tourism, business, visiting family (relatives) or friends, or transit;
● Stay a short period of no more than 15 days;
● Carry round-trip tickets back to Brunei or tickets departing from China to other country within 15 days.
Get all the above mentioned documents prepare before setting out. It’s free to enter China via any border ports opened to foreign visitors in China. And, upon arrival, you will apply for an “Temporary Entry Permit” issued by border immigration authority, without paying any fees.
Important Notice: Brunei citizens holding APEC Business Travel Card can enter mainland China without visa, because the travel is used as a multiple-entry China Business Visa for 3 years. Be aware that, the holders are only allowed to stay in mainland China visa free up to 2 months each entry.
Travel Ideas: Currently, you can take non-stop flights from Brunei to Shanghai, Hangzhou, Kunming, Changsha, Nanning in mainland China, and then transfer to Beijing, Xian, Guilin and other major destinations.

Except the above mentined visa-free situations, others have to get a visa for China. It’s strongly suggested to apply China Visa one month in advance before your trip. The visa begins to be valid once issued, unless otherwise specified.
Where to Apply
Brunei citizens and foreigners residing in Brunei can apply China Visa directly to Chinese Embassy in Brunei.
Applicants can visit the embassy in person, or entrust other people, a travel agent to submit. The embassy may require interview or applicants’ show up to sign if needed.
Tips:
① Postal/mail-in application will NOT be accepted.
② Walking-in submission is fine during visa office hours, no pre-arrival appointment is required. Please arrival before 10:30am.

China Visa process time is based on which kind of visa services you choose and sometimes is determined by your own situations.
Regular Application: usually can be picked up on the 4th working day;
Express Service: (must be approved first) typically can be collected on the 2nd or 3rd working day;
Rush Service: (submit before 10:00am if get approved) can be picked up on the same day.

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is treated as a third region from mainland China. Thus, Hong Kong own its separate immigration policy and a China Visa does NOT applies to travel to Hong Kong.

Apply Hong Kong Visa to Chinese Embassy in Brunei
Citizens not listed in the visa-free list of Hong Kong should obtain a valid visa/entry permit to visit Hong Kong.
