A. Guilin to Zhangjiajie Flights - Fastest

Most travellers choose to take flights from Guilin to Zhangjiajie, because it will be more convenient and faster than taking train or car. Nowadays there are direct flights and connecting flight for you to choose.

Option A: Guilin to Zhangjiajie Direct Flight (About 1 Hour, The Fastest & Top Choice)

There are flights operating between Guilin Liangjiang International Airport and Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport. The only one direct flight operated by China Southern Airlines from Guilin to Zhangjiajie departs three times a week, and it takes about 1 hour for a single way. Please note the flight might be canceled during the low seasons. The departure time of this direct flight is as followings.

Option B: Guilin to Zhangjiajie Connecting Flight (About 5.5~7 Hrs, An Alternative Choice)

2. Guilin to Zhangjiajie Train - Most Comfortable

If you fail to book a flight from Guilin to Zhangjiajie, taking a high speed train is also a great choice and you can enjoy a more comfortable trip. At present, there is one daily high speed D-train running from Nanning to Zhangjiajie with a stop in Guilin. This train passes through Guilin Railway Station and Guilin North Railway Station, and finally arrives at Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, costing about 7.5 hours totally. C. Guilin Zhangjiajie Train with Transfer at Changsha

If you are unable to book a direct bullet train to Zhangjiajie or prefer not to arrive at night, you have the option of transferring in Changsha. Taking a train from Guilin to Changsha and then transferring to a Changsha-Zhangjiajie train is a straightforward process.

You can start by boarding the bullet train from Guilin to Changsha. From there, you can catch another bullet train to Zhangjiajie Easily. Check for Guilin to Changsha Train Schedules.

Step 1: Guilin to Changsha Bullet/Normal Trains

There are over daily bullet trains (G-train) from Guilinto Changsha, and several daily normal trains (Z-train/K-train) to Changsha Railway Station. It will take about 2~3.5 hrs by bullet train and about 4.5~7.5 hrs by normal train.

Step 2: Changsha Railway Station to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station Trains

There are more than 10 daily bullet trains from Changsha South Railway Station to Zhangjiajie Railway Station, running from 6:00 to 18:33, with a travel time of only 2.5 to 3.5 hours.

Alternatively, you can opt for a quick and convenient option by taking metro Line 2 from Changsha South Railway Station to Changsha Railway Station, which only takes approximately 30 minutes. Changsha Railway Station offers a selection of over 25 daily bullet trains to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, with a travel time of 2 to 2.5 hours.

D. Guilin Zhangjiajie Train with Transfer at Hengyang

Option 2: Guilin to Hengyang Bullet/Normal Train - Hengyang to Zhangjiajie Normal Train

In addition to Changsha, Hengyang is also a good transfer station between Guilin and Zhangjiajie

There are approximately 18 daily bullet trains connecting Guilin (Guilin Railway Station and Guilin North Railway Station) to Hengyang East Railway Station, and the journey typically takes 2 to 3 hours. Subsequently, from Hengyang East Railway Station, there are 6 daily trains heading to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, with a travel time of about 4 to 4.5 hours. The entire train journey is estimated to take around 7 to 7.5 hours in total.

E. Guilin to Zhangjiajie Via Zhuzhou/Yueyang/Guiyang (Need a Layover, Overnight Train & Not Suggested)

In addition, you could also go to Zhangjiajie from Guilin by train with transfer at Zhuzhou, Yueyang or Guiyang. However, you will need a layover at these cities or take the overnight train.
