How to Get to Leshan City and Leshan Giant Buddha 2024
Leshan City is located in southern Sichuan Basin. The world famous Leshan Giant Buddha is in central Leshan city and it is at a distance of about 140km from Chengdu downtown in north, about 150km to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. Mount Emei is close to Leshan Giant Buddha with 45km only. Currently, travelers can get to Leshan from Chengdu, Emeishan or leave from Leshan to Chengdu and Mount Emei by intercity high speed train, long distance coach and our private driving service.

Chengdu Mianyang Leshan Intercity High Speed Railway (成绵乐城际列车), which starts from Chengdu downtown (Chengdu South Railway Station and Chengdu East Railway Station), passes by Chengdu Shuangliu Inernaitonal Airport, and reach Leshan Railway Station, offers more than 30 daily intercity fast and comfortable bullet trains for travelers to transfer to Leshan within 1 hour.

Chengdu South Railway Station 成都南站
Location: Guixi Rd, North Tianfu Avenue, Hi-tech Zone, South Chengdu City (成都市高新区天府大道北段桂溪街道); about 13km to southwest Chengdu Shuangliu Airport.
Chengdu South Railway Station can be reached by Metro Line 1 and Line 7, and over 10 buses from different areas in Chengdu.
Leshan Railway Station 乐山站
Location:Baolian Rd, QingjiangXin District, Shizhong District, Leshan City (乐山市中区清江新区宝莲路)
Leshan Station is about 145km southwest of Chengdu East Railway Station, about 135km southwest of Chengdu South
Railway Station and 35km east of Mount Emei Railway Station. It is about 13km to Leshan Giant Buddha for 30
minutes driving. It takes about half an hour by a tourist bus, while local Bus 605 and Bus 3 can also take you
to Leshan Giant Buddha directly for 1 hour from the station.

Get to Leshan from Chengdu by Bus
Apart from the fast intercity trains, travelers can take long-distance buses to travel between Chengdu and Leshan as well. Located in Xinnan Road, downtown Chengdu, Xinnanmen Bus Station is the most recommended tourist transport center to take bus to Leshan for about 2 hours' driving. Every day, Xinmanmen Bus Station runs buses to Leshan Xiaoba Tourism Station every 20 minutes. Upon arrival in Xiaoba, tourists can transfer to local Bus 13 to Leshan Giant Buddha directly within 1 hour, or take a taxi to get there, costing about 15 minutes (5km).
In Chengdu, there are others bus stations you can take to Leshan, such as Chengdu North Bus Station (城北客运中心), Shiyangchang Bus Station (石羊场车站)，Chengdu East Bus Station(成都东汽车客运站). At present, tourists have to transfer to Leshan Giant Buddha, since except Xinnanmen Bus Station, the rest bus terminals have no direct bus to Leshan Giant Buddha after arrival.

Get to Leshan from Emeishan by High Speed Trains (Emeishan to Leshan)
Mount Emei is about 50km from west Leshan Giant Buddha and 40km from Leshan Railway Station; about 5km west of Emeishan Railway Station and 10km west of Emei Railway Station. It takes about 50 minutes from Leshan Giant Buddha to Mount Emei by driving. In the meantime, you can take direct tourist buse from Mount Emei to Leshan Giant Buddha for 45 minutes, or take long distance bus (about 30 minutes) and then transfer to Leshan Giant Buddha.
Compared with long distance bus, high speed train travel between Leshan and Emeishan is much faster and popular. Every day, there are nearly 10 intercity high speed bullet trains running between Leshan Railway Station and Mount Emei Station. With only one single station distance, the bullet journey between Leshan and Mount Emei just needs around a quarter.

Emeishan Railway Station is a high speed train station serving Mount Emei, which located only 5km to Mount
Emei scenic area, much closer than Emei Railway Station. There are local buses, such as Bus 5A, Bus 5B, and
tourist buses arranged from Emeishan Railway Station to Mount Emei within several minutes.

Thanks for your question! The bus tickets from Chengdu to Leshan city vary from 43-65 RMB, and the tickets from Chengdu to the Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area vary from 49-189 RMB. The price is different according to different departure time, departure station and arrival station. The traveling time of those buses is about 1.5-3 hours.
Aside from the buses, you can also take High Speed Trains from Chengdu to Leshan. At present, there are about 20 daily bullet trains availble from Chendgu to Leshan City, which take about 46 mins to 1.5 hours. The ticket price of the Second Class Seats is about 43-54 RMB.

Thanks for your question. There are about 16 bullet trains to Leshan from Chengdu, some from Chengdu East Railway Station, and some from Chengdu East Railway Station. The prices for the ticket are - 54 for 1st class, 64 for second class and 125 for the business class. It takes about 1~1.5 hours to get to Leshan.
If possible, you can buy the ticket in advance because the demands are quite high.

No one can see this?. So many organization with train high speed for nothing?

Thanks for your message. To take high speed train to Leshan, you have to go to Chengdu East Railway Station, and book train tickets several days in advance. There are usually 13 high speed trains to Leshan from Chengdu each day operating from 07:36 to 20.26. Also, high speed trains to Shanghai from Chengdu depart at Chengdu East Railway Station, not Leshan.
