Hohhot Baita International Airport is located 17 km away from downtown (Xinhua Square), usually taking about 0.5 hours to transfer by car. You can take Metro Line 1 to get to Hohhot city center for about 35 minutes. Baita Airport is the largest aviation hub in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. By the end of May 2020, the airport has opened a total of 154 domestic and foreign airlines, connecting more than 90 cities.

Option 2: Get from Shanghai to Hohhot by Train - Budget Way of Travel
● Frequency: about 1 run per day
● Train Time: over 24 hours
● From & To: Shanghai South 上海南站 → Hohhot East呼和浩特东站, Hohhot 呼和浩特站
Every day, there is only 1 direct Z normal train leaving from Shanghai to Hohhot at around 19:30, and stops at both Hohhot East Station and Hohhot Station. The time spent on the train will take more than a day, so getting from Shanghai to Hohhot by train is not recommended.

Option 3: Transfer High-speed Trains in Beijing
